What is On Demand Transit?

Transit On-Demand is public transit service without a fixed vehicle route or schedule. Riders can book a ride ahead of time, to and from any bus stop within the Transit network. There are three ways to book a trip - on a smartphone using the rider app, on the website (brandontransitondemand.ca), or by phone.

What is the Same?

  1. Transit On-Demand will still operate at the following times:
    1. Monday through Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to midnight
  2. On-Demand will still use physical bus stops (with signage) and virtual stops to get riders as close to desired pick-up and drop-off locations.
  3. Fixed route service will continue to operate Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Sundays and Statutory holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  4. Brandon Access Transit and service to Maple Leaf remains unchanged.
  5. Trips may only be booked within the City of Brandon. If you request a trip for an address outside the city limits, it will be rejected.
  6. Rides may be requested by choosing a pick-up time, or select a "drop-off" trip to arrive at your destination by a certain time.

What Has Changed?

  1. Future rides can be booked as far in the future as service is available (weeks or months in advance). Riders do not have to be within the city limits to book a trip.
  2. Riders can request an ASAP trip, no 30 minute delay. ASAP doesn't mean instantly - when you choose this option, the service will try to pick you up as soon as 20 minutes from time of booking request.
  3. Riders choose the pick up and drop off locations by requesting specific bus stops at time of booking. Favourite Rides section is now an option to save valuable time!
  4. Riders are now able to confirm their booking verbally with the Operator, physical verification or codes are not required.
  5. Pantonium's proprietary algorithm optimizes agency resources dynamically and in real-time to meet changing passenger demand.
  6. Riders can cancel an active ride at any time. For past rides, riders can use the Book Again.
